There is no real official number of lawyers at risk for exercising the right of defense around the world. However, every day lawyers are murdered, threatened, arrested, tortured, prosecuted or simply missing.

Yesterday, on the 9th of March 2017, the Executive Committee of the ICB-BPI-CAPI visited the Court. Various meetings were held to introduce the new ExCo: a meeting with the Victim’s Office, a meeting with the Defense Office, a meeting with the Prosecutor’s Office and finally, a meeting with the President of the ICC, Mrs. Fernández de Gurmendi. This new Presidency and the new ExCo, along with some individual members introduced the new era of the International Criminal Bar.
